Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 25, 2026
This policy explains what information MGIT, LLC, doing business as Adjunct Hub ("we," "us," or "Adjunct Hub") collects when you use adjunct-hub.com (the "Service"), how we use it, and the choices you have. We've written it in plain language on purpose. The short version: we collect what the Service needs to work, we don't run advertising or analytics trackers, and we don't sell your information to anyone.
Information you give us
- Account information. Your name, email address, and a password when you create an account. Passwords are stored only in securely hashed form by our authentication system — we cannot see them. If you enable two-factor authentication, your authenticator enrollment is stored so we can verify your codes.
- Profile content. If you build an instructor profile, whatever you choose to add: title or credentials, headline, bio, subjects, teaching experience, education, a photo, and an introduction video. Every one of these is optional.
- Community posts. Threads and replies you post in the Faculty Lounge.
- Direct messages. Messages you send to and receive from other members. These are private between you and the other member, but they are stored on our servers in ordinary readable form — they are notend-to-end encrypted, and site administrators can technically access them. We do not read them as a matter of course, and we will not do so except where we genuinely need to: investigating a report of abuse, or complying with a valid legal request. Please don't use direct messages for anything you would consider sensitive, and never send payment details or passwords through them.
- Contact details you choose to publish. You may optionally add a contact email address and phone number to your profile. These are private by default. They appear on your public profile only if you tick the box to show them — and because that page is public, anything you publish there can be seen and collected by anyone, including automated scrapers.
- Application tracking. If you use the application tracker, the jobs you mark as applied to, their status, and any notes you add. This tracker is self-reported and visible only to you — institutions do not report anything back to us.
- Payment information.Paid memberships are processed by Stripe. Your card number goes directly to Stripe and never touches our servers; we store only a reference to your Stripe customer and subscription so we know your membership status. Stripe's handling of your data is described in their own privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy.
Information collected automatically
Our servers keep standard, short-lived technical logs (such as IP address and requested pages) for security and troubleshooting. That's it. We do not use Google Analytics, advertising networks, social-media pixels, or any third-party tracking scripts.
Cookies
We use only essential cookies: the session cookie that keeps you logged in. There are no advertising, analytics, or cross-site tracking cookies, which is why you don't see a cookie-consent banner here — there's nothing to consent to beyond what's strictly required for the Service to function.
What's public
- Instructor profiles. If you are a Premium member and fill out your instructor profile, that profile — the fields you chose to complete, including your name, title, photo, and approved video — is a public web page you can share, and it may be indexed by search engines. Sections you leave blank are not shown. You can edit or clear any section, or remove your photo and video, at any time from your profile page.
- Faculty Lounge. Your posts, along with your name and title, are visible to other Premium members and site administrators — not to the public.
- Member directory. If you are a Premium member with a completed profile, your name, title, headline, subjects, and photo are listed in a directory that other paying members can search — this is how members find each other for referrals. It is not visible to the public or to free accounts. You can remove yourself from the directory at any time from your profile page without taking down your public profile.
- Direct messages are not public. They are visible only to you and the member you are writing to, subject to the administrator access described above.
How we use your information
- To provide the Service: accounts, memberships, profiles, and community features.
- To process membership billing through Stripe.
- To send transactional email — things like password resets or notices about your account or submissions. We may occasionally send service announcements; anything promotional will include a way to opt out.
- To moderate content (for example, instructor videos are reviewed before publication).
- To keep the Service secure and diagnose problems.
Where your data lives
Adjunct Hub runs on infrastructure we operate ourselves, including our own database and file storage for profile photos and videos. Your profile data is not warehoused with a big-tech cloud data broker. The third parties that do handle limited data on our behalf are Stripe (payments) and our email delivery provider (transactional messages).
When we share information
We don't sell your personal information — not to advertisers, not to data brokers, not to anyone. We share it only: with the service providers named above, to the extent needed to do their jobs; if the law requires it (for example, a valid court order); or as part of a business transfer such as a merger or acquisition, in which case we'll notify you before your data becomes subject to a different policy.
Retention and deletion
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You can edit or remove your profile content yourself at any time. To delete your account entirely, use Delete my account in Account Settings — it takes effect immediately. If you can't sign in, email support@adjunct-hub.comand we'll do it for you. Either way we remove your account and associated personal data, keeping only what we're legally required to retain (such as payment records). Full detail, including exactly what is and isn't removed, is on the account deletion page.
Direct messages specifically.A message can't be unsent or edited once it has been sent — there is no delete button, by design, so that a conversation is a reliable record for both people in it. Messages are kept for as long as both accounts exist. If you delete your account, your conversations and the messages in them are removed for both parties, which means the other member loses that thread too. Blocking someone stops any further messages in both directions but leaves the existing thread in place.
Your rights
Wherever you live, we extend the same baseline: you can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. If you're in a jurisdiction with specific privacy laws (such as the GDPR in Europe or the CCPA/CPRA in California), you may have additional rights, and we'll honor valid requests made under them. To exercise any of these, email support@adjunct-hub.com. We may ask you to verify your identity first. Since we don't sell personal information, there's nothing to opt out of on that front.
Security
We use industry-standard practices: encrypted connections, hashed passwords, optional two-factor authentication on every account, and content moderation before instructor videos go public. No online service can guarantee absolute security, but we've built this one so that the most sensitive data (your card details) never reaches us at all.
Children
The Service is built for working educators and is not directed to anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we'll update the effective date above and post a notice on the Service before the changes take effect. Continued use after that means the updated policy applies.
