Dr. Merrill Perkins is a cybersecurity professional, educator, and U.S. Navy officer who teaches information technology and cybersecurity at the university level. He holds a Doctor of Science in Cybersecurity from Capitol Technology University, where his dissertation research examined insider threats in private healthcare, along with a Master of Science in Information Assurance and a Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems. His career spans both the corporate and defense sectors, with a sustained focus on identity and access management alongside broader work in security architecture, risk management, and security program leadership. He brings that practitioner perspective into the classroom, helping students connect course material to how security is actually practiced across industry and government.
